Search for new vice president for academic affairs

Dr. Carolyn Curtis’s plan to retire on Oct. 13, 2017 as vice president for Academic Affairs was accepted by the Board of Trustees during its meeting in June.

Please join me in thanking Dr. Curtis for nearly two decades of dedicated and exemplary service to the college. During her tenure, the college added more than 30 new degree programs while greatly expanding its student support services and maintaining the high academic standards for which Hudson Valley Community College always has been recognized.

The college now is partnering with The Registry. The company, based in Peabody, MA, has placed interim presidents and senior staff at college campuses throughout the world for the past 25 years.

Our goal is to complete a search for an interim vice president for academic affairs by Oct. 1 as the search for a new college president continues. The new president, expected to be in place in the summer of 2018, then will conduct a search for a permanent vice president for academic affairs.

Please note that faculty and staff will have the opportunity to meet candidates for the position of interim vice president for academic affairs in August on a date to be announced.
